NEXT WORKSHOP FOR TEENS at CRE8ERY, 125 Adelaide St
WEDNESDAY APRIL 26: AM or PM or BOTH
$35 (half day)/ $60 (full day)
I am an experienced multi-age educator of 20 years, but I left the public school system to follow my arts passion. No more teaching inside the box for me 🙂 but I still love sharing my passion for the visual arts with students!
The workshops are at Cre8ery at 125 Adelaide, across from Canadian Footwear in Winnipeg’s beautiful Exchange District. They are introvert-friendly, small class size, and aim to provide a comfortable place to develop individual’s art skills and take risks with as much encouragement as needed 🙂 In addition, there is always fantastic art up in the galleries ( not to mention my group show COLLECTIVE VOICES!)
Both morning and afternoon start with some fun “creative warm-ups” to get the brain going, start engaging the coversation of art and related vocabulary, and experience a couple of different mediums, how they can be used and inter-mixed.
The morning mediums we will be using are oil pastel, ink pens, & watercolour. The afternoon mediums will be acrylic paint, oil pastel and a couple different underpainting textures.
Artists are required to bring the mediums and a list will be provided. I do not expect premium quality and I encourage very economical, practical spending when buying supplies. I will supply brushes, scraping tools, and texture supplies.
Some concepts that will be explored are CONTOURING, COLOUR MIXING, IMPRESSIONISM, PERSPECTIVE, & the projects developed by the individuals are not of a make and take nature.
Since I do not have a relationship with your teen, and if you feel that your presence may be required, you are welcome to hang around. Jordan (owner/curator of Cre8ery) and myself want everyone’s creative experience to be positive one.
Please ask any other questions you may have, and if you plan on registering, I can email a registration form, or see link above.
